We all know how uncomfortable traveling can be, especially if you are tall like us. Barely being able to stand up, having to duck to get into the airplane, being wedged in a seat built for a person of average height, and worst of all having the short person in front of you crush your knees when they put their seat all the way back. Traveling can be down right TORTUROUS if you are tall! We are dedicating this post to all of our travel frustrations. Below are five ways to help make traveling more comfortable (even if you aren’t tall).
1. Fly Frontier Or Jetblue Airlines

Frontier - After doing a little research a couple years ago I decided to fly Frontier Airlines based on the fact that their planes have more leg and hip room in comparison to other airlines. When I flew on a Frontier flight for the first time I could not believe how comfortable it was. The seat in front of me was not touching my knees when I sat down! They also have tv’s in each seat for watching shows or movies (major plus because I get so bored on flights!). If you fly classic or classic plus (which I usually do), you get free tv, free baggage check, and advance seat selection when you purchase the ticket. Also, Frontier offers something called stretch seating (availability and price depends on the type of ticket you buy). Stretch seating is available in the front rows of the aircraft and provides up to an additional five inches of legroom – that’s a minimum of 36 inches of comfy seat pitch in which to relax and enjoy the Frontier flying experience (pretty awesome idea if you ask me).
JetBlue – I have only flown this airline once, but cannot wait to book another flight on JetBlue. There are so many great things about flying JetBlue – free snacks, free bag check, in-flight TV and MORE leg room!
In addition to all of their seats offering more leg room in comparison to other airlines, JetBlue also offers super-spacious Even More Legroom seats (fees vary and start at as little as $10 per flight.) These seats are very comfortable and offer 38″ of space for you to relax in during your flight. JetBlue also offers phenomenal customer service that really makes them stand out in the industry. Next time you book a flight, check out JetBlue for a top-notch experience!
2. Olivia Crocs
I absolutely love these shoes. They are incredibly lightweight, comfortable and affordable (under $30). I ordered mine on www.zappos.com. I also like that they are breathable and easy to wash. I get a ton of wear out of them. These shoes come in many different colors and crocs come in other great styles as well. For travel, these shoes are perfect since they are comfortable, lightweight, easy to slip off and allow for the ever annoying swelling of the feet when you fly. You can wear these shoes with a super casual outfit or dress them up a bit. Most important, you can walk all over town in them without worrying about your feet hurting.
3. A Long Scarf
Pashmina or not, a long scarf is an absolute essential when traveling. There are so many reasons to include this item to your packing list! First, you never know what temperature the plane will be or what the temperature will be at your destination. Even when it is warm during the day, the evenings can get chilly or the air conditioning indoors may be on full blast. A scarf will keep you warm and can be a great fashion statement. Second, a scarf can double as a wrap for the evening or a swimsuit cover up at the beach or pool. Lastly, a scarf is easy to pack and takes up very little room. Scarves come in endless varieties so there is sure to be an option out there for everyone.
4. TallWater Jeans Brooke Yoga Pant

These pants are not only stylish and flattering, but they are also very versatile and comfortable. I adore these pants and wear them all the time, especially when I travel because they take up very little space and can be worn with so many different looks. The fabric is the perfect thickness (so you cannot see anything through them) and stretchy. The flare leg is flattering on most body types. There are so many places I wear these pants: to the gym, to work at the spa, to run errands, shopping, I mean EVERYWHERE. The unique waistband detail is very flattering. When I wear the Brooke Yoga Pants I get so many compliments because of the fit. Tall girls out there must try these pants; they have a 37.5″ inseam (which can be stretched or shrunk depending on how you dry them). Believe me you will not be disappointed!
5. A Clutch

This one item is wonderful for traveling and will make your life so much easier. I prefer a clutch with a wrist strap (wristlet) so I do not have to hold it. There are so many cute clutches out there to choose from in every price range and style imaginable. I NEVER travel without at least one clutch, and here is why. They are small and fit in your luggage without taking up much space (and if you are like me space is so important because I like to squeeze as much as humanly possible into my suitcase). They free up your hands and are not heavy on your shoulder. If you are planning to do any shopping while away you will be so grateful to have a clutch and not a huge purse. They are also less likely to get stolen off of you since you have it wrapped around your wrist. For nightlife a clutch is AMAZING…they fit the essentials (ID, money, credit cards, gum, lip gloss, eyeliner, and keys) and you do not have to worry about loosing it at a crowded bar, club, or restaurant since you can easily wear it and do not have to set it down.
